 Gifted Assessment

Gifted assessments help identify children with advanced learning, thinking, or creative abilities. Testing looks at strengths and areas that may need extra challenge, helping parents and schools provide the right support and opportunities for your child to thrive. Red Rock Psychology can provide assessments for applications to Westmount Charter School or the GATE program through CBE.

Why would my child need a gifted assessment?

What to Expect during a Gifted Assessment

Intake Meeting Parents/Guardians Only
(Online or Phone)

We will meet with to learn about your child’s development, learning style, and interests. (~60 minutes)

Assessment Sessions
Child Only
(in person)

Your child completes testing one-to-one with the clinician. This can be booked in 1 session (~2 hours) or 2 half sessions (~1 hour each)

Academic Assessment Session Child Only
(in person)

ONLY needed for CBE GATE. Academic testing can be booked for GATE applications (~2 hours)

Comprehensive Written Report

You will receive a detailed report summarizing all findings, results, and individualized recommendations. This document can be shared with schools, physicians, and other professionals to support your child moving forward.

Feedback Meeting Parents/Guardians Only (Phone/Virtual/in person)

We will go over results together and explain what it all means. You’ll leave with a clearer picture of your child’s abilities and next steps. (~60 minutes). Follow-up consultations can be arranged if needed. Feedback meetings can also be arranged with the school as needed.
