 ADHD Assessment

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common condition that can affect how children focus, stay organized, manage their energy, and control impulses. Some children may have trouble paying attention, following instructions, or finishing tasks, while others may seem constantly on the go or act without thinking. Every child is different, and ADHD can show up in a variety of ways. An ADHD assessment helps understand your child’s unique strengths and challenges, so the right supports and strategies can be put in place at home and at school.

Why would my child need an ADHD Assessment?

  • Has trouble staying focused or is easily distracted

  • Frequently forgets things like homework, instructions, or daily tasks

  • Struggles to follow through or finish what they start

  • Has difficulty staying organized or managing time

  • Seems constantly on the go or has trouble sitting still

  • Acts impulsively or has difficulty waiting their turn

  • Has challenges listening or following instructions

  • Experiences frequent frustration, emotional outbursts, or low frustration tolerance

  • Is falling behind academically despite effort

  • Teachers or caregivers have raised concerns about attention or behaviour

  • Struggles to keep up with routines at home or school

  • Has difficulty with friendships or social interactions

What to expect during an ADHD Assessment

Intake Meeting Parents/Guardians Only  (Online or Phone)

We begin by meeting with parents, caregivers, or the client to learn about developmental history, medical background, family context, and education. From there, we create and share a personalized assessment plan.

2

Assessment Sessions
Child Only

(in person)

The client participates in a one-on-one testing session to understand their learning strengths and areas of difficulty.

3

Standardized Questionnaires

We collect input through questionnaires completed by parents, teachers, and/or the client to see how behaviours show up in different environments.

4

Comprehensive Written Report

You will receive a detailed report summarizing all findings, results, and individualized recommendations. This document can be shared with schools, physicians, and other professionals to support your child moving forward.
